One of the biggest challenges for parents trying to work-out from home is what to do with your young kid(s) while you’re working out. It is always a juggling act getting everyone (yourself included) situated and ready for a work-out, but there are some things that you can do to keep your little one safely entertained while you work-out. Here are some ideas:
If you have a garage gym, or work-out on a hard, concrete surface, consider adding some fitness mats for your kid’s play area like these. This will help with unassisted falls. For your work-out area one or two horse stall mats are a great surface to use. Plus, if you’re in a garage your car can fit over/on the horse mats with little to no damage.
Keep kids contained and out of the way with swings (stationary for babies or hang them from the ceiling using screw eye bolts into a stud and chai for older kids), bouncers, and play pens/moveable baby gates. They love to watch what you are doing!
This Pop ‘n Play Portable Playard by Summer Infant would be great!
This North States Superyard movable play gates make gating your kiddo in/out of an area super flexible. There are also extensions so you can modify it to the space you have.

Again Faster’s Kids Plyo package is great for older kids who want to work-out with you.
During the summer you’ll need fans, so consider investing in a couple, one for you and one for the kiddo. In wintertime, a patio heater is great at heating up the garage (just remember to have plenty of airflow and to keep little ones at a safe distance).
The way you complete your garage work-out will be ever changing with kids, so go with the flow, have fun with it, and don’t be afraid to try new strategies to get a work-out in.
