I just wanted to check in quickly before I get overwhelmed with Christmas activities.
I recently ran a mile in 5:17 and am slightly behind my planning to hit a 5 minute mile by Jan. 31 aka my 30th birthday. I was finally able to get my splits accurately and found something that could be hurting me. My splits go as follows:
Lap 1: 1:09:99
Lap 2: 1:18:26
Lap 3: 01:25:33
Lap 4: 01:24:26
Total: 5:17:86
While researching how to run the fastest mile possible I found that those breaking mile records were running at very consistent splits. I’ve found this incredibly difficult to do just because of how fast I fade. I want to use my juice while I have it at the beginning of the race. Hopefully, this adjustment along with continued training will help me reach my goal.
The next month is going to be very difficult with the Holidays and a 6 day ski trip in January but I’m not losing site of the goal. Hopefully I’m not lugging too many extra lbs around the track come January 31. Follow me overall progress here.
Merry Christmas too all!
I hope you are all coming close to your goals.
